Where Story Becomes Performance.
I have spent more than 40 years as an actor, working in theatre and film from Portland to Los Angeles. I have performed extensively in Portland’s theatre community, with roles including Titania/Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Poppy in Noises Off (Lakewood Theatre); Bunny Flingus in The House of Blue Leaves (Profile Theatre); Nina in The Seagull (Cygnet Theatre); Desdemona in Othello (IFCC); and Ingenue in Six Characters in Search of an Author (Oregon Shakespeare Company/Portland). In Los Angeles, I played Beverly in Black Linen (Tracey Theater).
I am perhaps best known for my role as Claire in the 1991 independent film Claire of the Moon. Alongside my acting career, I taught Theatre and English at Grant High School for nearly 30 years. I hold a B.S. in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon and an M.F.A. in Acting/Directing from the University of Portland, where I studied with the inspiring Tom Lasswell.
For me, acting has always been a way of exploring what it means to be human—and that exploration continues through my work as a teacher, mentor, and artist.
